Refund Policy
About this policy and your rights
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains how Sunflower Academy reviews payment and refund enquiries. Please read it with your enrolment agreement and payment arrangements, which are provided privately.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a service being corrected, cancellation, a refund or compensation. We do not apply a blanket no-refund rule to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Payment errors, cancellations and unavailable care
Incorrect or duplicate payments: We will review the account and correct confirmed errors through a refund or, with your agreement, an account credit.
Cancellations and changes: Please request cancellation or changes to booked days in writing. Applicable notice periods and charges are those disclosed in your enrolment agreement and permitted by law. We will reconcile your account and explain any remaining balance or refund.
Absences: A reserved place may still incur charges during illness, holidays or other absences. Public holiday and absence arrangements are governed by your disclosed enrolment terms and applicable law. An absence does not automatically create a refund entitlement.
Unavailable care: If we cannot commence or provide agreed care, we will explain the available options and review payments. We will not retain payments for unavailable care without a lawful basis or require you to accept a credit when you are legally entitled to a refund.
Child Care Subsidy: Account adjustments distinguish family payments from government subsidy. Subsidy amounts are reconciled under the relevant government rules and are not refunded to families as if they were family-paid amounts.
How to request a refund or raise a concern
Email general@sunfloweracademy.com.au with your name, your child’s name, the payment date and amount, the invoice or reference number, and the reason for your request. Please do not email full payment-card details.
We will review the request and explain the outcome. If a refund is approved, we will confirm the amount, payment method and expected processing time. Refunds are normally returned to the original payer using the original payment method where practical. Alternative arrangements may require verification.
If you disagree with an outcome, please ask us to review it. You may also contact NSW Fair Trading for information or assistance.
